Here’s what a meeting looks like.
A typical Toastmasters meeting is structured, fun, and full of opportunities to learn and grow:
1. Opening segment
The Club President welcomes guests and makes important announcements.
The Toastmaster of the Evening takes over to guide the meeting.
2. Prepared speeches
2–3 speakers deliver prepared speeches based on their Pathways projects.
Each speech lasts 5–7 minutes and is followed by constructive feedback from evaluators.
3. Table Topics (Impromptu speaking)
2–3 participants give short, impromptu speeches on topics chosen by the Table Topics Master.
Guests are welcome to participate—but never pressured!
Each speech lasts 1–2 minutes.
4. Evaluations
The General Evaluator oversees feedback for the meeting.
Evaluators provide insights on prepared speeches, timing, and general meeting performance.
Reports from the Timer, Grammarian, and Ah-Counter ensure everyone can improve.
5. Break
A short break allows members and guests to chat and network.
6. Closing segment
All evaluations of speaches are done. In addition, the Grammarian, the Ah–Counter, and the Timekeeper submit their reports. The evening’s evaluator concludes this section with his or her report.
