We’re an English-speaking club, led by Marie-Claire Lutzke and situated at AI xpress Startup Zentrum Böblingen, with members from all over the world. Speakers Express Boeblingen was originally founded as Stuttgart International Toastmasters Club in 1971 as one of the first Toastmasters International clubs in continental Europe. Over the last 50 years, we have received countless club awards. In 2024 we changed our name to Speakers Express Böblingen.

What exactly is Toastmasters?
Toastmasters International is a global network for personal development, with over 16,000 clubs in more than 140 countries. Since 1924, it has been helping people speak with greater confidence, appear more convincing and grow as individuals. You too! Whether you are just starting out or already have experience, at Toastmasters you will find a learning environment, where you can develop your own pace with structure, but without pressure.
What makes Toastmasters so special?
You won’t be learning in a dry seminar, but together with others – through real-life practice, motivating feedback, and a safe space where you can simply try things out. Whether it’s an impromptu speech, a prepared presentation, or constructive evaluation: every role helps you progress. You’ll not only strengthen your speaking skills, but also your self-confidence and presence incidentally and with enjoyment. And all this at a fraction of what traditional rhetoric training would cost.

You don’t need any special skills to join us, just the desire to try something new. Everything else will come with time. With us, you can try things out without pressure, but with support. And with a lot of fun.
FAQs
Do I have to give a speech on my first visit?
No, guests don’t have to give a speech. You can simply relax and watch and get a feeling for how things will go. If you’d like, you can also participate in the impromptu speeches.
Where do the meetings take place?
Our meetings take place at the AI xpress Startup Center Böblingen, Röhrer Weg 8, 71032 Böblingen. The studio is centrally located and easily accessible.
Do I need to be an experienced speaker to participate?
No, everyone is welcome here from beginners to experienced speakers. We support each other.
What does a typical meeting look like?
An evening consists of prepared speeches, impromptu speeches (short, spontaneous speeches), and constructive feedback. There is also plenty of time for conversation and networking. A great opportunity to meet new people and build connections in a relaxed atmosphere.
Can I bring someone with me as a guest?
Of course! You are welcome to bring friends or colleagues. It is best if the person also registers via Eventbrite so that we can ensure that enough seats are available but it is not mandatory.
What language is spoken at the Toastmasters Club Speakers Express Böblingen?
We are an English-speaking club. With us you can give speeches in English and improve your language skills in a supportive and safe environment.
